Much loved grandfather of Lisa Anne Munro. don was born in St. Thomas on October 29th, 1920, the son of the late Lorne and Irene (Roberts) Munro. He worked for Campbell Soups, Listowel and lived a number of years in Oakville. Don was a member of First Unite d C h u rc h , t h e G o l d e n " K " K i w a n i s Club, the St. Thomas Curling Club and the St. Thomas Golf and Country Club. He was an avid bridge player. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William James "Mick" McGuire on Monday May 25,2009, at the age of 86. He is survived by his beloved wife Winnifred Edith Mar y, his 3 children and spouses: Janet (Terr y), Michael (Marian) and Stephen (Arlene); grandchildren: Cheryl, Stephen, Patrick, Daniel, Brandon, Kyle, Grant and S e a n ; g r e a t - g r a n d c h i l d r e n : A n d r e w, S a m a n t h a , L e v i , T y l e r, S y d n e y , Ta i t u m , R y l e i g h , K a d e n , F i n n l e y, Nolan and Cage. Mick joined the RCAF in 1937 and proudly served for over 40 years, retiring with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. He saw service in Europe during WWll, Korea and the Suez. During his post war career he served in postings throughout Canada, the US , the UK and Europe. On retiring from the Air Force, Mick worked for the Town of Oakville in the Planning Department for several years; served as a Customs and Immigration Officer at Pearson Airport for 10 years; and finished his working life serving as a Court Officer in the Provincial Court Offices in Milton. He was active in the community over the years through his involvement in Scouting and the Knights of Columbus. Visitation will be held at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block east of Kerr St.) on Wednesday from 2-4 &7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held, at 1p.m. on Thursday May 28 at St. Dominic's C a t h o l i c C h u rc h , 2 4 1 5 R e b e c c a S t .
