Former NBA player and Duke University basketball legend Gene Banks will attend Sunday's second annual charity outdoor tournament, which will run from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. at Upper Oakville Shopping Centre and is in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton. Banks starred at Duke as a 6-foot-7 forward, winning team MVP on three occasions and receiving the Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Year award in 1978. He went on to play six seasons in the NBA with the San Antonio Spurs and Chicago Bulls, averaging 11.3 points per game over his 468-game NBA career. He then finished his professional career overseas in Italy and Israel, and was inducted into the Duke Basketball Hall of Fame in 1994.
