Police said a closed day care centre on Shepherd Road was targeted twice in one week with the suspect first breaking in to pull the fire alarm on Sunday, May 10. On Saturday, May 16, the same day care facility was broken into again, but this time a fire was set. No one was injured in the fire and the damage to the building was due largely to smoke. Raitt said it was "clear" her remarks were misinterpreted. And she "wanted people to know" she watched her father die from colon cancer over a period of 18 months. And 20 years later was with her brother when he, too, died, of lung cancer. Raitt took no questions. Prime Minister Stephen Harper made clear in the Commons Tuesday he didn't expect Raitt to express any regret.
