Police increasing enforcement at Oakville's riskiest intersections Halton police are stepping up their presence at a series of Oakville intersections where drivers seem to be more accident-prone than usual. Dubbed the Red Light Safety Project, police will be increasing their visibility at the Dundas Street intersections of Trafalgar Road, Eighth Line and Ninth Line and the Upper Middle Road Intersections of Trafalgar Road, Eighth Line and Ford Drive, between now and July 3. The reason for focusing on these areas is found in the statistics, police said. From January to May, police recorded 143 motor vehicle collisions in these areas with the majority of accidents being intersection related. As this number makes up 14 per cent of all the collisions in the Oakville area, police have decided these intersections deserve some extra attention. Throughout the Red Light Safety Project period police will enforce road safety at these intersections with special attention paid to those who drive aggressively, run red lights, follow too closely and speed.
