Sean Reyes, gold medal winner of the Golden Gloves and Prime Time Prospects boxing tournament, was celebrating his 27th birthday at the AMC Entertainment Complex, located at 2081 Winston Park Dr., when a man got into a verbal altercation with one of his friends as they walked through the parking lot. Witnesses said Reyes asked the man if there was a problem at which point the man suddenly punched Reyes in the face, causing him to fall and smash his head on the cement. The suspect and a small group of people immediately left the area. Reyes was taken to Toronto Western Hospital where he required surgery to relieve swelling to his brain. He has since been released from hospital and continues his recovery at home. Police canvassed the AMC complex on several weekends after the incident, but to no avail. On Monday a combination of witnesses and technology led police to arrest Christopher D'Angelo, 23, of Brampton. D'Angelo has been charged with aggravated assault and will make an appearance at a Milton court on Aug. 4.
