The first goal in the strategy calls on the Town to use its remaining 770 hectares of vacant employment land to attract knowledge-based industries in the professional services, advanced manufacturing and life sciences sectors. The strategy noted these fields will provide well-paid employment opportunities to Oakville's well-educated population, 56 per cent of whom possess a post-secondary education. Creating professional employment opportunities within Oakville would be a significant development as currently more than 63 per cent of working Oakville JON CURRIE / OAKVILLE BEAVER FAMILY PORTRAIT: Dave and Susan Gilbey, of Oakville, pose with their daughter Megan for a photo of their reflection in the paint of their labour of love, a 1958 Corvette, during the Classic Car Show hosted by the Sir John Colborne Recreation Centre last week.
