Competitors from across Ontario, Québec and New York State competed with their model aircrafts throughout the day, as the event was hampered by rain and thunderstorm delays. Burlington MPP Joyce Savoline will take on the role of critic of the urban issues and housing portfolios of Municipal Affairs and Housing, with her former post as education critic going to Elizabeth Witmer. As the former chair of Halton Region, the post should be a natural fit for Savoline.
