Would you like detailed insight into the Forensic Identification Unit, the Homicide Unit or the Tactical and Rescue Unit? Maybe you want to learn more about the Collision Reconstruction Unit or are keen to discover more about fraud and identity theft prevention? Are you curious to know what it is really like to be a police officer? The Halton Regional Police Service has limited space available for the upcoming session of the Citizen's Police Academy. This informative and innovative program takes place each Tuesday evening from 7 to 10 p.m., beginning Sept. 15 and running to Dec. 1. Each week, participants are presented with information about the various features of the Halton Regional Police Service. Some of the areas covered include: recruiting, hostage negotiations, homicide investigations, police training and police communications. This voluntary program is designed for anyone who wishes to supplement their knowledge of the Halton Regional Police Service and policing practices in general. Preference is given to per- sons who reside or operate businesses within Halton.
