This is the question residents opposed to a 900-megawatt gasfired power plant, slated for east Oakville or west Mississauga, are asking themselves following a meeting between Oakville Mayor Rob Burton and Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty. A shave and visit to the veterinarian has Daisy (top right) on the road to recovery. The director of the Oakville and District Humane Society says it is the worst case of animal neglect she has ever witnessed. On Wednesday, Aug. 19, a man delivered a 10-12year-old poodle into the care of the Cornwall Road shelter, saying he had found it on his lawn in the area of Pilgrims Way and Nottinghill Gate. The state of the little dog deeply disturbed those who saw it. See Neglected page 7 SERVING OAKVILLE FOR 25 YEARS! 175 Wyecroft Rd.
