OAKVILLE BEAVER Thursday, September 17, 2009 · 12 BEST OF OAKVILLE Glen Abbey GOL CLUB Thanksgiving Brunch at Glen Abbey Pushing the Boundaries in Dance Education BALLETOMANE is pleased to be recognized by Oakville residents as one of the top dance schools in Oakville. Our 7,000 square foot facility is home to many young dancers who share a love and passion for the performing arts. It is our goal to offer children of all ages a superior level of dance instruction. Our Artistic Faculty helps to foster each child's appreciation for dance and to facilitate their pursuit of a professional career in the performing arts. As Balletomane embarks on the start of another school year we are pleased to celebrate the recent accomplishments of our students. The 2008 2009 School year proved to be very rewarding for the Vocational students of Balletomane who were invited to spend their summer abroad. After a successful audition season, our senior students traveled North America to develop their dance careers with professional companies and schools in New York, Alberta, Quebec and many more. For many Balletomane students the audition process proved to be a rewarding experience. Students were offered placement in the following Summer Intensive Programs: The Alvin Ailey School (New York City, N.Y.); Ecole Superieure de Ballet Contemporain (Montreal, PQ); The School of Alberta Ballet (Calgary, AB); The Canadian Children's Dance Theatre (Toronto, ON); The Royal Winnipeg Ballet School (Winnipeg, MB); The School of Toronto Dance Theatre (Toronto, ON); and Syracuse University Summer Intensive (Syracuse, N.Y.) Our students have since returned from their summer programs and are now ready to begin the next stage of their dance training. Balletomane is pleased to announce that Oakville resident, Yuki Akogi, has been offered a full time position in the Professional Program at The Alvin Ailey School in New York City. Yuki has been dancing since the age of four and now, at the age of 17, is ready to move forward in her pursuit of a professional dance career in New York City. The Artistic Faculty and students of Balletomane wish Yuki all the best as she embarks on this new stage of her dance training.
