The Charity Casino and Silent Auction will begin at 6 p. m. at the Oakville Conference and Banquet Centre. All proceeds will go to support the non-profit resource centre serving Halton and Peel. The IARC provides practical resources, information and peer support to help those who are caring for a loved one at home. The centre opened in November 1997, a natural extension of Ian Anderson House, the six-bed cancer hospice next door. The IARC is a registered charity and depends on the generous support of local organizations, foundations and individuals to provide its programs, services and resources without charge. Tickets cost $100 per person and include a champagne reception, buffet dinner with wine, $20 in casino gambling chips, silent auction, dancing and door prizes. The evening will also include one live auction item of an overnight package to the Fallsview Casino Resort.
