OAKVILLE BEAVER Friday, September 25, 2009 · 18 Builder rallying with the stars for Sick Kids Burlington designer/builder Ferris Rafauli, who operates Grandeur Luxury Homes Inc. by Ferris Rafauli on Cornwall Road in Oakville, is taking time out this weekend to rub shoulders with Hollywood stars and fast cars in hopes of raising $100,000 for Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children this weekend. So far, Rafauli has raised $76,125, and counting, in just two weeks for kids with cancer as all proceeds from Rally for Kids with Cancer (www.rallyforkids.com) go to the children's hospital. The idea is that there are 30 drivers with exotic cars and 30 celebrities. Ferris is one of the drivers. Each driver tries to raise as much money as possible and then each selects a celebrity to ride with them and compete against the other drivers in a scavenger hunt race throughout Toronto, which takes place this Saturday, Sept. 26. The order of priority that each driver has in selecting which celebrity gets to ride with them is based on how much money the driver has raised. Most of the cash raised so far has come from the construction trades and suppliers who do business with Rafauli. For more information, visit www.rallyforkids.com.
