The ladies earned the advancement by easily handling Mid-Western Division champion Bramalea in a playoff, winning 12 of 14 games. "We've only gone up once before to Majors," said Wallace Park Tennis Club president Jan Tingle. "Majors is a very prestigious upper class." The team, captained by Cindy Lambert, also includes Rachel Liddell, Monica Reilly, Liz O'Neill, Dot Piercey, Cynthia Quigley, Katie Way, Jennifer Willson, Donna Murphy, Cindy O'Doherty, Chrstine Svoboda, Andrea Tillmann, Carole Bertuzzi, Charlene Amlinger, Lorna Dyck, Carolyn Lunski, Michelle Whelan, Sue Hodge and Tingle. Wallace Park's Ladies Inter-County West Division second team, captained by Adwynna MacKenzie, also fared well in playdowns, finishing second in the same league.
