Shutterbugs invited to enter their photos in the Capture Oakville 2009 contest The Capture Oakville Photo Competition is back for 2009, with prizes awarded in five categories as well as a grand prize winner. "I am really excited that we are giving away a Sony Alpha A230 DSLR as a grand prize," said Kieley Kitagawa, Oakville Camera Club president. Other prizes include photographic equipment, camera bags and gift cards. This year's five categories are Dusk `til Dawn, Abstract Art, Streetscapes, Solace, and Elementals. All photos have to be taken within Oakville's geographic confines from January until the Oct. 7 deadline date. "A lot of people forget the competition starts on Jan. 1. We would like to remind potential contestants to consider images they took during the winter and spring," said Kitagawa. Each entry submitted must be printed on 11x14, high-quality photographic paper. The top 80 prints will be selected by jury and hung at Oakville Town Hall's north atrium from Grand Opening Night Gala on Nov. 6 to Jan. 10. To download entry forms and complete rules, visit the Oakville Camera Club website, oakvillecameraclub.com. Completed entries can be dropped off at Henry's Oakville Store at Dorval Crossing Shopping Centre, Vistek Mississauga at 5840 Mavis Rd., the Oakville Arts Council office at 120 Navy St. and OCC meetings. 31 · OAKVILLE BEAVER Friday, October 2, 2009 * FREE DAILY SERVICE Morning and afternoon departures to Fallsview Casino *After $10 Casino Rebate Government Photo ID required WEDNESDAY & NOW SATURDAY Morning & Afternoon From Hopedale Mall EVERY EVERY SUN, TUES, THURS, FRI & SAT From Carpool Lot Guelph Line, North Service Rd SEPTEMBER 30 - OCTOBER 4, 2009 HOURS: Weekdays: Wednesday - Friday opening at 4 pm.
