Dining for Doctors Without Borders A benefit for Doctors Without Borders (DWB) will be held in Oakville on Thursday, Oct. 22. The event will take place at Shoeless Joe's Restaurant, 2501 Prince Michael Dr. The $125/plate dinner will feature music in memory of the late Michael Jackson and is billed as a "white glove event." Guests are encouraged to dress in Michael Jackson style with white gloves, white socks, and red jackets. The dinner, which includes a variety of activities, will start at 6 p.m. Mayor Rob Burton will be in attendance, as well as DWB founder Dr. Richard Heinzl. All proceeds above cost will be donated to Doctors Without Borders. Corporate sponsors are encouraged to participate. The celebration will feature a cocktail reception, threecourse dinner, musical entertainment by members of the Halton Youth Symphony and Sheridan musical theatre. Special guest for the evening will be CFUW National President Patricia DuVal and there will be a silent auction. This year, in recognition of its 60th anniversary, CFUW awarded a special scholarship of $5,000 to graduating Oakville student Nupur Dogra.
