Linbrook girls win three running titles Linbrook Public School won the tyke, atom and bantam girls' team championships at the Halton District School Board's elementary cross-country Amos junior (JK-6) meet Wednesday in Burlington. Maple Grove (atom boys) and Chisholm (tyke boys) were the other local schools to win division titles at the meet, which featured the top runners from previous meets this season. Nearly 900 runners completed the course. Linbrook's Courtney Cranmer (atom girls), Chisholm's Dominic Barichello (tyke boys) and Maple Grove's Grant Paterson (atom boys) were individual race winners. Sunningdale claims four pennants at Division D meet Sunningdale earned four team championships at the Halton District School Board's Division D elementary crosscountry meet recently at Burlington's Sherwood Forest Park. The school captured the tyke girls' B, bantam girls' and tyke boys' B divisions during the junior portion of the meet, then won the intermediate boys' pennant in the afternoon. Heritage Glen won the junior boys' and senior boys' titles. Eastview was the other local school to win a team division, finishing first in senior girls. Four Heritage Glen students were individual event winners. William McCallister won the tyke boys' A race, Ben Prentice was the bantam boys' champ, Quinton McLeary took the junior boys' race and Kaitlyn McCallister crossed the line first in the intermediate girls' run. Sunningdale's Jessee Abraham (senior girls) and Eastview's Mike Vanstone (senior boys) also won individual gold. The D meet featured the second-largest group of JK-8 schools in Halton. Sixteen schools participated in the event, with nearly 1,400 runners completing the course.
