Opening with a bang, it is presenting the festive favourite Handel's Messiah on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m. at St. John's United Church, 262 Randall St. This will be followed next afternoon at 3 p.m. by a Sing-along Messiah Hallelujah, also at St. John's · Falafel · Souvlaki · Shawarma · Taboule · Seafood Mixed Grill United Church. Continuing with favourites, the OCE choir will be joined by a select group of singers from the Oakville Children's Choir to serenade the audience for Valentine's Day with the love songs of Brahms on Saturday, Feb. 6. To conclude the season, the combined choir and orchestra will lift people's spirits on Sunday, May 16 with the joyful motet Singet dem Herrn, the cantata Allein zu dir and the first orchestral suite by Bach. The artist has been elected to become a member of the Ontario Society of Artists. She received the A. J Casson Medal a first prize for the best watercolour painting at the international juried show of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour last year.
