Suspected impaired teen crashes into garage A 17-year-old Oakville male is facing a number of impaired driving charges after crashing an SUV into a home on Wynten Way early Saturday morning. Police said the male was driving a 2007 Volvo SUV westbound on Sir David Drive around 5:30 a.m. when he drove through a stop sign at Wynten Way. The SUV continued through the intersection and off the road where it struck a 2008 Saturn that was parked in a Wynten Way driveway. The impact caused the Saturn to smash through the garage doors of the home where it then damaged a Volkswagen GTI and a 2008 Mazda M3 parked inside the garage. Considerable structural damage also occurred to the garage, reported police. "The homeowner awoke and called police," said Sgt. Brian Carr, Halton police public affairs officer. "We arrived and found the driver, a 17-year-old. He was observed with normal signs of impairment." The 17-year-old has been charged with impaired driving, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and driving with a blood alcohol content greater than zero, something forbidden under his class two licence. The driver did have a passenger in his vehicle at the time of the accident, but neither they nor the occupants of the home were injured in the crash.
