The Budget Committee is focused on maintaining current programs and services and catching up on overdue facilities to meet the needs of residents. By using performance-based, program-based budgeting to identify potential savings, the Committee is looking to minimize the impact on property taxes. Budget Committee guidelines approved in June forecast a maximum total tax increase of 3 per cent and we've asked staff to bring back options to reduce this to under 2 per cent. PLAN OF SUBDIVISION AND STATUTORY PUBLIC MEETING If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Town of Oakville before the by-law is passed or before the approval authority gives or refuses to give approval to the Draft Plan of Subdivision: a) the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Town of Oakville Council to the Ontario Municipal Board; and b) the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Municipal Board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to do so. The applicant is proposing a Zoning By-law Amendment and Draft Plan of Subdivision Approval for the creation of five residential lots. Three of the proposed lots front onto Chartwell Road with the remaining two lots fronting onto Maple Avenue. If approved, the application will result in two residential lots fronting onto Maple Avenue being developed in accordance with the R05 zoning regulations. The remaining three residential lots, fronting onto Chartwell, are proposed to be developed in accordance with the R02 zoning regulations with site specific regulations for reduced lot frontage. A portion of the site is proposed to be dedicated to the town for the purpose of securing lands located within a floodplain area.
