Flu shot clinic was well organized 7 · OAKVILLE BEAVER Friday, November 6, 2009 Continued from page 6 and children remained in their vehicle sheltered from the elements. Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr was clearly visible inside, engaged in discussions with several individuals. It was soon after we learned that the doors would open at 8 a.m. and administering of the vaccine would commence immediately. Carr then came outside and went down the line greeting those in attendance and personally addressing any questions and concerns. The doors did open at 8 a.m. and the record shows I received my shot at 8:16 a.m. After waiting the requisite 15 minutes after for observation, I was in my car and on the way home at 8:40 a.m. The clinic was very well organized and the support staff and medical professionals were kind, courteous and helpful every step of the way. The size and scope of the H1N1 vaccination program is unprecedented in Canadian history. Could governments, especially at the federal and provincial levels, done a better job in communication and delivery? Absolutely. Here in Halton Region I believe that Carr, the staff and medical professionals on the front line deserve our thanks and congratulations on a job well done given the circumstances.
