About 1,500 gifts are distributed to seniors thanks to the efforts of Home Instead Senior Care and program partners -- Halton Region, local private long-term care facilities and area retailers such as CIBC, Royal LePage, Shoppers Home Health, Walmart and Zellers. The program sees seniors write a wish gift on an ornament, which is then hung on Christmas trees displayed at area businesses. Members of the public can take an ornament and return the wished-for gift for delivery to the senior. There are still trees up with ornaments with gift requests from about 200 seniors in the community.
