No statement could better capture the life of Jesse Comeau, 16. A special memorial, bearing the all too appropriate quote, was unveiled at Thomas A. Blakelock High School, Monday afternoon, in commemoration of its fallen student. Comeau was killed July 11, when an altercation broke out between two groups of young people during a Burlington house party. Comeau was stabbed repeatedly during this incident, as were two other partygoers who have since recovered. Bradley Todorovich, 18, of Hamilton is facing a second-degree murder charge in connection with Comeau's death. The Blakelock memorial presentation saw the halls near the school's resource centre packed with hundreds of members of Comeau's family, friends, students, as well as members of his Taekwondo class and co-op program. Despite having lived only 16 years , Comeau succeeded in leaving a lasting impression with many in PHOTOS BY MICHAEL IVANIN / SPECIAL TO THE BEAVER IN MEMORY: Kathy Comeau, Jesse's mother, and Liam Goodman gaze up at the mural of Jesse Comeau during its unveiling ceremony at T. A. Blakelock on Monday afternoon. The mural was painted by Goodman to honour the life and spirit of his fellow student. The Olympic torch will arrive in Oakville around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday -- more than two decades after it last shone brightly in town. Though it will wind its way through downtown along Lakeshore Road, and even take a jaunt along the Sixteen-Mile Creek, it will only be here for just about 90 minutes. There's no official celebration point and roads will not be closed. It will be a relatively spontaneous event. While Oakville is participating in the torch relay, it is not an official celebration community, so it will be business as usual -- sort of. When the torch last came through Oakville on Christmas Eve morning en route to the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Alberta, it drew more than 10,000 spectators and the town was about half the size it is now. This Saturday will also be the last shopping Saturday before Christmas. The torch will move into town just after 2:30 p.m. at Lakeshore and Southdown roads. It will travel along Lakeshore Road, passing Navy and Water (officially Adam van Koeverden Street) streets before moving down into the Oakville Harbour and journeying up the creek before heading back on land and onto Navy Street and then resuming its westbound course along Lakeshore Road. It will then head north on Dorval See Mural page 5 See Oakville page 3 SERVING OAKVILLE FOR 26 YEARS! 175 Wyecroft Rd.
