Students chose from the many different people that were in attendance including Mary, Joseph, the Angel, the Wisemen, Shepherd, Drummer Boy, as well as the donkey and sheep. William Mullen We also asked the Grade 1 students from St. John Elementary Catholic School to submit creative Christmas pictures. We received so many wonderful submissions and all have been published exactly as they were submitted to us. These stories and pictures are a great way to get in the holiday spirit and a small reminder of what Christmas is really all about. Enjoy! Ryan Stewart talking about how Mary is going to have a baby. At first when Mary was talking to angel Gabriel she was nervous and scared. But when the angel said, "You're going to have a baby and He will grow strong and be a great King." Mary said, "Well, that was a relief." After all that we went on a journey but Mary was pregnant. So we traveled all the way to Bethlehem. We went to a stable and then Jesus is Alive! A big bright star was up over the stable. It was there so everyone in Bethlehem could see the star and travel east to the stable. Once everyone was there, they gathered around Jesus. We've been traveling for days and nights now, no sign of any food or village or towns. No sign of anything, until one day when there was a hotel in a busy town. But unfortunately there was no room for Mary and I. But there happened to be a barn near by. Mary Domenic DiLullo and I got to the barn. There were just animals in there so we thought this was a good place for a baby to be born. After that our new King was born. The star guided all the shepherds and wise men. It was a day to remember forever. I would give my life up for the day of His birth. It was just amazing to see our Savior with my own eyes. You couldn't imagine it, gazing at Him was like being taken into a world of angels and shepherds. I would travel days and nights to see His birth. I would let nothing stand in my way. Even one of the most important things I can think of because I am his father. sheep. I play with my drums `Bom, Bom, Pow!' The place where I go is the lovely field. Then the other shepherds tell me about some King who is wrapped in a warm white cloth like the clouds. He is in the hay in a manger. I see the beautiful light shining. A big star is pointing to a farm. I follow the star and I see the King. "His name is Jesus, the Son of the Lord," the shepherds said. The baby smiles at me and I smile too. Vanessa Noia - Mary When Gabriel spoke to me, I was in the garden. I was jubilant when Gabriel declared that I would have a Son and name Him Jesus. I rode on a donkey to reach Bethlehem. When the innkeeper announced that there was no space in the inn I felt melancholy. I had my Son in a manger instead. It ached to have Him coming out of my womb. But I love Him. He is a King to help the world but He is my son. I was proud to see so Monika Stoskute Natalia Bek - Donkey My back hurts so badly but I will not give up. My legs are tired for I can't walk but I will not give up. I'm too glad to give up because a King is on my back. My master is pulling harder every minute on my throat. `Almost there,' I tell myself, `a mile or two but way closer than before'. An hour later, but still not there. `Hello here, I'm dying from the pain.' But of course, they can't understand me - I'm a donkey. Later, I see the stable. I gallop a little faster out of excitement. When Jesus the King was born, I snuggled in the soft warm hay with Jesus, a little tiny baby. My journey is over because Jesus was born safely in a stable. Now I can rest from walking on a dirt road and in the fields too. When I fall asleep my dream will most likely be about Jesus my King. Bern Tabuyog - Drummer Boy I am the Drummer boy. I help the shepherd put the sheep in the pen. The other shepherd gets to feed them. Some shepherds carry the sheep from the field. I am poor and I work hard by the starlight in the sky above. I'm with the sheep eating hay from the soft sandy round end of the earth. We travel to Bethlehem because we saw a bright star above and we followed the star. We almost lost a sheep going the opposite way from us and I had to get it. It was running away. I finally got it and here we are in Bethlehem. I saw Mama Mary and Joseph's baby. He was cute and chubby. I felt surprised that I was looking at the King. James Maiurro - Joseph A day to remember was today, when the angel Gabriel talked to Mary and me. The angel was Richard Pieterse - Drummer Boy I'm watching the stars with my sheep on a beautiful hill. I walk to the food store in Bethlehem and I buy water and bread for my Nicholas Snyder - Joseph It was a long time till we got to Bethlehem. Abigqie
