The bank robbery occurred on Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m. when a man entered the TD Canada Trust branch at Wyecroft Road, near Burloak Drive. The man told staff it was a robbery, presented a gift bag to the teller and demanded money. He was handed money by bank staff. The suspect left the bank and was seen fleeing on foot west on Wyecroft Road. Kevin James Crawford, 19, of Hamilton has been charged with robbery and wearing a disguise while committing an indictable offence. The incident is being investigated by the Halton Regional Police Service 20 Division criminal investigation bureau. Board to offer info sessions The Halton District School Board (HDSB) is currently preparing for September 2010, and information sessions regarding the board's French Immersion programs have been planned at the board's French Immersion Centres. The HDSB offers Immersion and Extended French programs for students beginning in Grade 1 (Early) and Grade 7 (Extended). In these bilingual programs, elementary school students attend an HDSB elementary school designated as a French Centre, where they receive half their instruction in English and half in French. This provides students with the opportunity to achieve a working command of French and simultaneously acquire the personal growth, knowledge and skills expected in the regular program. Registration forms for the French Immersion program are available at any school within the HDSB, including the French Centres listed below. Applications should be returned to the student's home school by no later than January 15, 2010.
