Paul Gareau, Wayne Martin, Dale Paul and David Feldstein extended Kiel Gallinger's Brockville rink to extra ends before falling 7-6 in the championship game. Gareau's rink tied the game in the final end of regulation, narrowly missing winning the game on a hit and roll attempt, before Gallinger took advantage of the hammer in the first extra end. Gareau's foursome wasn't the only Oakville team to enjoy a successful weekend. The rink of Bob Edmondson, Don Moseley-Williams, Michael Skafel and Greg Ward won the CURLINGBRIEFS consolation; Bob Reid and brothers-in-law Paul Wood, David Wood and Phil Wood won the third event; and Gord Alderdice, Jamie Sproat, Aivy Reinfelds and Michael Pettes claimed the sixth event. Charity bonspiel Oakville Curling Club will be hosting the 20th RBC Big Brothers Think about Mondays Taxi 58 Services 416.347.5362 1.888.468.5989 airport trip on Monday and receive Big Sisters of Halton curling bonspiel next month. The event will take place Saturday, Feb. 20 at the club. All proceeds will go towards the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton mentoring program. The event will run from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Oakville Curling Club currently has 45 members in the bantam (16-and-under) division and 21 members in the junior (fulltime high school students under the age of 20) division. Learn to Curl program The Oakville Curling Club will also host a Learn to Curl program for youngsters ages nine to 12 this fall. The four-day program will begin Aug. 10, with sessions from 9 a.m. until noon.
