Elliott's shorthander wins Silver Stick As the seconds ticked down in overtime, the Oakville peewee AE Rangers were most concerned about killing a penalty. Fortunately, Cameron Elliot had other ideas. Elliott scored on a shorthanded solo rush with half a second to go in the first overtime session, giving the Rangers a 2-1 victory over the Whitby Wildcats in the championship game of the International Silver Stick tournament in Pelham. The championship marked the second time in three years that an Oakville team has won the peewee AE title at the International Silver Stick. Nick Jedryk had the Rangers' goal during regulation time and Michael Bradshaw made several difficult saves -- including one with his head -- to pull out the win for Oakville. The Rangers finished the tournament with a 6-0 record, outscoring their opponents 38-5. Their other wins in Pelham came against Port Perry, Strathroy, Michigan Mt. Clemens, Caledonia and Alabama Huntsville. Other members of the Rangers are Anthony Antonakos, Ryan Bell, Aidan Challis, Luke Corbeth, Julian Davies, Luke Dibenedetto, Connor Droog, Reece Feijo, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Robbie Forasiero, Thomas Law, Justin Menne, Cole Ouellette and Brandon Wood. Manny Feijo, Gino Dibenedetto and Brian Wood coach the team, and Gord Davies is the manager.
