11 · Thursday, February 11, 2010 OAKVILLE BEAVER · www.oakvillebeaver.com Police seeking suspect Halton police have released a photo in their search for a suspect connected with a Nov. 9 assault at a Hasty Market in Oakville. The incident occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. at the store located at 1140 Winston Churchill Blvd. At the time, a 38-year-old Brampton man and a 49-yearold Mississauga man were talking outside the store. The men were confronted by a man and woman asking for a cigarette. They refused and the couple went into the store. When the male suspect later left the store, police said he him at the same time. The victim dismissed the suspect's threat, grabbed him and took the knife. The suspect and his female companion then fled. The suspect is described as a white male, 16 to 18 years, 5foot-7, 150 lbs. with light brown hair. He wore a red hoodie, red Blue Jays cap and jeans. Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to contact the Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777, ext. 2261 or by calling Crime Stoppers at 1800-222-TIPS (8477). Assault suspect engaged in a verbal altercation with one of the two men. The incident escalated when the male suspect pulled a knife out of his pocket and walked towards the victim, threatening Agendas don't mesh in Bronte A Bronte Village Residents' Association (BVRA) information meeting aimed at answering questions surrounding the redevelopment of the Bronte Village Mall has been postponed indefinitely. The meeting was initially scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 10, but due to scheduling problems was rescheduled to a date early in the New Year that was never specified. As scheduling problems have persisted, plans for this meeting have been put on hold. When the meeting is held, the BVRA will ask representatives from the Bronte Village Mall a series of questions about the development. The objective of the open forum is to allow the public to hear the applicant's responses to questions about the application and to allow for questions.
