Eldest daughter of the late John Austin Smith and Cicely Joan Austin Smith (Harvey-Williams). Wife of Roy Grant. Beloved mother of John and Vanessa, and a second mother to their spouses, Lynda and Philip. Devoted grandmother of Michael (Diane), Tara and Jamie. Great-grandmother to Brayden, Caitlin and Bailey. Dear sister of Peter Austin-Smith and Sandra Taylor and a favorite aunt of their c h i l d r e n . M o m w a s a w o n d e r f u l a c t o r, p a i n t e r a n d t a p dancer, and her big personality will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Words cannot do her justice, but one of her reviews captures some of her talent: "Joyce Grant had audience members laughing, crying and empathizing with Mrs. Watts - the character she plays in The Trip to Bountiful ... [She] had audience members praising her performance during both intermission and afterwards, as well as whispering support and sympathy for her character while she was on stage. ... [Grant] is absolutely amazing, and I look forward to seeing this fine performer act in many more productions in the future."
