Police say the charges relate to three incidents that occurred between February and November 2009 involving the off-duty officer and a man. The victim was not injured. Police became aware of the incidents earlier this month and the officer was charged March 12, said Halton Police Sgt. Brian Carr. She is charged with sexual assault, forcible confinement and three counts of assault. The officer's name was released by police "to be transparent" but Metroland WestHalton Division does not publish names of those charged in domestic incidents to protect the victim's identity. The constable, a uniform patrol officer in Burlington who has been with Halton Police for eight years, is to appear in Milton Court April 23.
