During the two days of filming in his home, Bot had four colleagues, including his business partner Cosimo Panetta, in his home who sampled his own cooking on day one of the filming, and the food prepared with the help of the show's two hosts on the second day. On the first day he made a paella dish, which includes rice, meat and seafood in one pot. When he served the meal the response from his co-workers was less than flattering. He said, "I put it out there and they all started complaining: `Oh, I can't have the rice touch the meat. I can't eat it,' because she's a vegetarian and then it was too spicy for the pregnant girl and the fish smell upset her. Then Cosimo doesn't eat fish. The only part he can eat is the meat and the rice and then Richard broke into hives because of the spices. They really destroyed me. They critiqued the food," he recalled. Bot has lived in Oakville for 17 years and has been part owner of the hair salon for the last seven years. He was contacted to do the show by its casting director who happens to be a customer of the salon. At first he was hesitant, but then agreed. "I've been having fun," he joked. The second day of filming included help from the show's two hosts who try to balance out a healthy meal, but one that also tastes good. "Now with Julie focusing on vitamins it will actually help me balance out my diet and to support a friend that comes over with a vegetarian need and to adapt my cooking to involve her needs as well." The episode is part of Healthy Gourmet's second season which will air sometime this summer.
