The seventh annual Just For Laughs Road Show is coming to the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts Wednesday, April 28. To serve up the laughter will be Oakville's own award-winning funnyman Mark Forward hosting the show. Joining him on stage will be comedians Carl Barron, Pete Correale and headlining the show will be Sebastian Maniscalco. "I always enjoy performing for a Canadian crowd," Maniscalco said. "They seem to be very contemporary as far as their knowledge of what's going on in current events. I'm looking forward to getting up there in these towns that I haven't been to yet to raise my awareness and to bring laughter to those cities." The comedian was a featured comedian in Vince Vaughn's Wild West Comedy Show, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2006. He was in Toronto at the time of the premiere. "I never performed up in that area, but I noticed there were a lot of Italians up there," he said of his time here. "I come from an Italian family so I'm looking forward to seeing the demographic there in Oakville to see if a lot of Italians will come out to the show." His stand-up act will include observational humour that can range from dating to current events, or just his disgust for human behaviour and a little bit of making fun of Italians, he said. "When you relate to the audience and their environment and where they are living, and if you can make something funny about their town or their city, they really appreciate that." Sebastian Maniscalco, comedian SERIOUS COMEDY: Sebastian Maniscalco will headline the Just for Laughs Road Show. "It's in a good-hearted way," he said of his comedy, "Everybody can get the material, but if you're Italian, you will definitely gravitate to the material." The road show has several Ontario stops and Maniscalco said he plans on doing a bit of exploring in the places where he will perform. "I like to go into a city on my own to scope it out, to find out what the local references might be and local stuff that I can start the show with that people will know," he said. "When you relate to the audience and their environment and where they are living and if you can make something funny about their town or their city, they really appreciate that."
