The Devils are off to another strong start in rugby play, winning their first three games by a combined score of 125-20. ERIC RIEHL/ SPECIAL TO THE OAKVILLE BEAVER Little League opener dedicated to moms It promises to be a colourful opening weekend for the Oakville Little League. The local baseball organization will tribute mothers everywhere by painting the diamonds pink for its season-opening games on Mother's Day Sunday at Cornwall Park. Before the rookieball (eight-and-under) and major (12-under) division games get underway, each player will present a carnation to their mother or grandmother to celebrate Mother's Day. Pink cupcakes and pink pins will also be sold at the park, with all proceeds going to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Cash donations will also be welcomed. "Oakville Little League is pleased to have selected the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation as the organization to support for our 2010 season," said OLL president John Sweeney. "Being a volunteer-based organization, similar to the breast cancer foundation, we thought that raising the awareness of breast cancer, which is the most common cancer in women, is our way of supporting a great cause." Games begin at 8 a.m., with opening ceremonies slated for 11 a.m. For more information, contact John Sweeney at 905827-1831. Every World Cup Player Has to Start Somewhere.
