The Beatles experience comes to Oakville Centre stage Did you miss The Beatles craze in the 1960s? Then, here is your chance to experience, or relive, the musical revolution that took the world by storm in a theatrical concert in Oakville Wednesday, May 19. Beatlemania On Tour ­ The Beatles Experience, which has been touring around the world since 2006, is making a stop at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts. "We recreated the characters and every nuance of The Beatles down to their accents, their costumes, wigs, guitars and even the venue that they played in with the sets of the show changing," said Chris Frazer, who performs as John Lennon on the band. He added that he and his fellow performers are not only musicians, but actors as well. The chorus received 620 points at the Regional Sweet Adelines annual singing competition, just six points shy of first place. To further the chorus' successful run, its ensemble EnRoute, finished in second place at the regional quartet competition. Sweet Adelines International has 30,000 members worldwide. Region 16 includes groups from both sides of Lake Ontario. Some 24 choruses competed at this year's Region 16 competition. Circle of Harmony is comprised of female singers of all ages. They can be heard performing this Sunday, May 16 at the For the Love of the Arts Festival at 1 p.m. The festival will take place at Town Hall, 1225 Trafalgar Rd. To help subsidize expenses, the group members are holding a garage sale this Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at St. Simon's Anglican Church, located at 1450 Litchfield Dr. The choir is also looking for sponsors. In June and July, the choristers will participate in the 28th International Choir Festival of Preveza and the 16th International Competition of Sacred Music in Greece.
