The forum will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the River Oaks Recreation Centre at 2400 Sixth Line. It is being hosted by Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention Services (SAVIS). While SAVIS hopes to create awareness about the prevalence of sexual violence -- May is sexual violence awareness month. SAVIS also hopes to increase service access for diverse and marginalized survivors of sexual violence, as well as explore innovative approaches to support survivors in their healing. Registration costs $25. As well as survivors, the forum will also hear from Preeya Rateja, a probation/parole officer with the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services; Glenn Allan, directo of the Southwestern Ontario Office Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness and Rita Kohli, executive director of the Sexual Assault/Rape Crisis Centre of Peel. Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study South Halton Water and Wastewater Master Plan Update which was prepared to address the water and wastewater servicing needs within the 2021 planning horizon. The recommendations from previous Master Plans will be reviewed in the context of the current regulatory environment and planning estimates. The study area for the Sustainable Halton Water and Wastewater Master Plan (refer to map) includes Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Problem Statement To develop a comprehensive strategy for providing water and wastewater servicing to existing and approved growth areas in Halton Region to 2031. The Process problems/opportunities, consider and evaluate solutions, and identify a preferred water and wastewater servicing strategy to the year proposed within. A key component of the study will be consultation with interested stakeholders including the public, special interest groups and regulatory agencies. The study work plan provides for two rounds of Public information Centers (PICs) at four locations (one in each local municipality). Representatives from the Region and its consultants will be present at the PICs to answer questions and discuss the next steps in the study.
