www.oakvillebeaver.com · OAKVILLE BEAVER Thursday, May 27, 2010 · 14 Flicks for Funds at Encore The Flicks for Funds program is now in action at Oakville's Encore Cinemas. "We're a community-minded company," said Jeff Knoll, president and CEO of Encore Cinemas. "We regularly get calls from community groups, sports teams and schools asking if we'd be able to help them out with fundraising projects. Flicks for Funds was created to provide that service." Here's how it works. A local group can book a date and film for their fundraiser through an Encore manager, either through e-mail, phone or in-person, then spread the word through their community. Come movie night, 10 per cent of all tickets sold and 15 per cent of all concessions sold to their participants go directly to the organization. "Our goal every day is to deliver big movies at small prices," said Knoll. "With the Flicks for Funds program, we can continue to do that while helping out our community. It's a perfect example of why I got into this business." For information, call 905-338-0494, visit www.film.ca or e-mail info@film.ca.
