The junior environmentalists have been operational as the Green Team for three years and have already picked up the Junior Foresters School Award from Oakvillegreen for planting 50 trees and shrubs around the schoolyard. The team won the 2009 and 2010 Halton Youth Awards for Environmental Excellence for environmental leadership. The team's most recent initiative involves the creation of an outdoor classroom, above, that will be available to all teachers and students on a rotation basis. The classroom is at the front of the school.
