Family looking for dog, helps man with medical condition By Dominik Kurek OAKVILLE BEAVER STAFF 7 · Wednesday, June 16, 2010 OAKVILLE BEAVER · www.oakvillebeaver.com After a traffic collision in Oakville this past weekend, Mississauga's Tim Schafer lost his dog, Emma -- a dog that helps him with a medical condition. Now his family is looking for Emma. Schafer was travelling on the Queen Elizabeth Way on Saturday, when, at around 4 p.m., he lost consciousness and his car swerved and slammed into a wall between Third Line and Bronte Road. "They think he had a minor heart attack, possibly," said Schafer's ex-partner Darlene Lister. She said the heart attack is unrelated to Schafer's medical condition. Emma is described as a fairly small houndGerman Shepherd mix. She's black with a tan-white marking on her chest. The dog is microchipped. Emma was wearing a Toronto Maple Leafs blue and white collar and an orange leash. "He's heart broken because this dog is his only friend. This dog is his life and it has escaped." The car got jammed between two concrete positive sighting of the dog going up the on ramp on Third Line to North Service Road," said Lister. Victor's Victory I was diagnosed with a large herniated disk at L5, two bulging disks at L3 & L4 and mild stenosis. My destiny was the surgeon's knife. Hoping to avoid surgery, I went through four months of rehab including physio, spinal decompression, acupuncture, cold laser therapy, traction and lots of pain killers. I felt hopeless. One night my wife's friend called to check up on me. She told us about an article she read in the Oakville Beaver about a lady, who after 3 Bowen Treatments was pain free. I was skeptical, but "What the hell, I already spent thousands of dollars in treatments, what's another couple of hundred?" After the first treatment I was very skeptical as I was in more pain than before. The "miracle" came 2 days later when the numbness in my foot, that I had had for six months, went away. Three treatments later I was pain free. Bowen Treatments work and I recommend it to everyone! I am so grateful.
