Girls U12 Academy team wins Barrie Spiritfest Tournament Capping off a very busy spring, the Oakville Soccer Club Girls Under-12 Academy team won the recent Barrie Spiritfest Tournament. Oakville steamrolled through the preliminary round, defeating Sudbury Valley East, Barrie A and Brantford by a combined score of 19-0. Needing only a draw to advance to the championship game, Oakville got exactly that against Darlington, playing to a scoreless tie. In the final against South Region Soccer League Elite Division rival Bolton A, Oakville scored late in the first half and held on the rest of the way for a 1-0 victory. Members of the team are Ella Griffin, Hannah Baillie, Sammy Lengyel, Jaime Bon, Madeleine Simmons, Claire Hatziioannou, Nadia Rupoli, Emily McDonough, Emma Guerin, Julie Edgar, Jessica Rosales, Melissa Misztal, Chantal Pande, Caroline Noble and Kathryn Manarin.
