On Sunday, HERE (Halton Enablers of Renewable Energy) hosts a solar tour showcasing homes with solar energy systems. The tour will take place at two locations in Oakville. One location is a home with solar panels that is selling electricity to the grid. The other location is a green retrofit home with many eco-friendly and cost-saving upgrades, including a solar domestic hot water heating system. The purpose of the tour is to help Halton residents gather more information on solar energy and its applications. Renewable energy technology experts, homeowners, project team members, and/or installers will be on site at each location to describe and explain the systems. If you are interested in registering for this tour, contact HERE! at here.office@gmail.com or 905-299-2327. A donation of $10 per participant is requested. For more information, visit http://halton.ourpower.ca. HERE! is a project of the Halton Environmental Network (HEN). HEN is a non-profit organization whose mission is to make environmental connections in Halton. HEN is pleased to present this opportunity to increase awareness of renewable energy systems and connect interested homeowners with others who have already gone solar.
