Born in Wapella, Saskatchewan, she was the daughter of the late George McDonald Shand and Clare (Barclay) Shand. Sheila was a veteran of WWII, ser ving with the Canadian Women's Army Corps (1942-1946). Post war she married and became a h o m e m a k e r a n d a m o t h e r. S h e w a s kind, gentle, and true with a fearless side that refused to quit. Her sense of h u m o r, q u i c k w i t , a n d s t o r y t e l l i n g abilities are to be forever remembered. Everyone who met Sheila would always say what a sweet person she was, and the many people she touched, loved her. Sheila was warm, engaging, and interested in all. She saw the good in people and generously gave of herself. She enjoyed her condo in Oakville, gardening, visiting, and putting around. She also enjoyed her many furry friends. In the hospital, Sheila shared beautiful memories of her Suite at the Berkley (Green St.).
