Violinist earns award She's still too young to drive, yet Oakville violinist Clarisse Schneider is a musical veteran and she's using that experience to win some awards. The 15-year-old took first place among other youths at the Ontario Music Festival Association (OMFA) competition in the string diploma class category, which took place in June. The St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Secondary School student has been studying violin since she was five years old. She studies at the Oakville Suzuki Association. She represented the Burlington Music Festival at the provincial competition. The OMFA is an umbrella body for festivals across the province that serve more than 170,000 young classical musicians.
