The Thomas A. Blakelock student was fatally stabbed July 11, 2009 when an altercation broke out between two groups of young people at a Burlington house party. Police have charged Bradley Todorovich, 18, of Hamilton with second-degree murder in connection with Comeau's death. On Sunday those who knew and loved Comeau will be holding a special tribute in his honour at the Shell Park skateboard facility where he would ride his BMX almost every day. Judi Maeda, whose son Brendan was Comeau's best friend, has organized the event stating it will be a celebration of Comeau's life where those who knew him can gather and share stories about the type of person he was. "This is being done out of love for Jesse," said Maeda. "This will be a celebration for everyone Jesse touched, he just left his thumb print on everybody." Maeda said Comeau and her son were inseparable and she has noticed a great change in her son since Comeau has been gone. She also said it is important for those who loved Comeau to be together on Sunday, the first anniversary of his death. "Jesse was just an unbelievable kid. He had everything going for him," said Judi. "Jesse was like a second son to me. Jesse Comeau Anytime Brendan was there, Jesse was there. They were just so much alike they did everything together and you always knew they were safe together. He brought a smile to your face and he never complained. He was always there for everybody, he didn't even know how to be selfish. He was so easygoing. It's just such a loss...the impact he had on people and he didn't even realize it." Comeau was an accomplished martial artist, receiving his first black belt in taekwondo at age 12 and serving as an instructor at Oakville's Horizon Taekwondo. At the time of his death those who knew him said he was well on his way to realizing his goal of becoming an electrician having completed a co-op placement at Blakelock. The tribute will begin at noon. This year you left, but she's not alone om looks forward to your daily conversations and feels more secure knowing that you're just a phone call away.
