www.oakvillebeaver.com · OAKVILLE BEAVER Friday, July 9, 2010 · 16 Rumble in the Jungle at library K eep your kids busy this summer at the Oakville Public Library (OPL) . Our TD Summer Reading Program has kicked off, so if your kids have not signed up, you can register them online at www.opl.on.ca with your library card or visit your local branch. Our theme is Destination Jungle so our library professionals can suggest lots of jungle-themed reading material to get kids hooked, have fun and get excited about the incentive prizes. The TD Summer Reading Program runs from June 25 to Aug. 16 and encourages kids to have fun while they read and helps ensure they maintain their reading and skill level achieved at the end of the school year. Whether your child loves to read or is a little less enthusiastic, our Summer Reading Program will invigorate them, reward their individual achievements and promote high self esteem. We are grateful to our sponsors who provide the incen- tive prizes: African Lion Safari, YMCA of Oakville, McDonald's Restaurants Oakville, Halton Conservation and Friends of the Oakville Public Library. We are also offering new jungle-themed registered programs. For the three to five-year age group, check out Monkey Business on Monday, July 12 at Woodside Branch, Parrots Paradise on Tuesday, Aug. 10 at Iroquois Ridge Branch, Rhythm in the Rainforest on Monday, July 26 at Woodside Branch and Wiggle and Giggle through the Jungle on Tuesday, July 13 at Iroquois Ridge and Wednesday, July 28 at Central Branch. For kids six to 12 years old, the Birds of Prey program on Thursday, July 8 at Central Branch will allow kids to encounter a bird of prey from Mountsberg Conservation Area.
