Halton Regional Police public affairs officer Sgt. Brian Carr said the spree began in Burlington shortly before 1 p.m. when the TD Canada branch at 5000 New St., was robbed. This was followed by the robbery of a Bank of Nova Scotia branch at 3505 Upper Middle Rd. in Burlington 15 minutes later. This was followed by two bank robberies in Oakville -- the Bank of Montreal, 240 North Service Rd. W., being robbed shortly after 2 p.m. and the RBC, 1005 Speers Rd., being robbed 10 minutes later. Blakelock high school, Jesse Comeau left an indelible impression on people. One year after his tragic death, the 16year-old continues to make an impres- sion. "His wide, easy smile and optimistic demeanour were infectious," said Judi Maeda, whose son Brendan was one of Comeau's best friends. She organized a tribute at Shell Park on Sunday (July 11) -- one year from the day Comeau was stabbed to death in 2009 after an argument turned violent during a party at a friend's house in Burlington. More than 100 BMX bikers, martial arts mates, school and neighbourhood friends, and family gathered at the park to ride and to remember Comeau.
