It is the 13th annual memorial ride for Luis Jesus, who died at the age of 23. His mother Juve, a CIBC rider, is one of the top fundraisers in Ontario for the cause and has already raised more than $25,000 this year. In total she has raised more than $230,000 in the last 13 years. When he was seven years old, Roberts was diagnosed with Supra Ventricular Tachycardia (a problem where his heart would beat at up to 300 bmps) and elected to have surgery in October 2007 after a particularly frightening episode where his heart had to be stopped. Roberts attended the ride to thank the participants and tell them his success story.
