Through Oakville Images, an online database provided by OurOntario.ca and accessible through the library's website at www.opl.on.ca, the public can access thousands of images documenting the history of Oakville and surrounding areas. OPL is actively looking to expand this collection and is seeking image contributions. OHS is collaborating with the library and other local historical groups on a new and exciting project: Oakville Memories: Old & New -- a rich collection of Oakville stories and photographs submitted by members of the community to document and celebrate Oakville's great history. Your scanned photographs would further enrich this project. If you have any photos, postcards, or other historically rich images, we invite you to bring them to Oakville's Central Branch on Thursday, Aug. 5 for our scanning day. Our volunteer team will scan your images into our online database and ask you about the context of each image. We ask that each donor bring no more than 25 images -- any larger collections will require an individual meeting. We also encourage you to contribute a short story about your own experiences in Oakville and to bring it along with you to the Scanning Day. If you have a collection that you would like to have included in the Oakville Images database, and Aug. 5 does not suit you (or the collection is rather large), an individual meeting can be arranged at your convenience (no later than Aug. 20). To confirm attendance at the Oakville Images Scanning Day, contact Jacquelyn Bennett at 905815-2042, ext. 5093 or at jbennett@oakville.ca. Provide your name, contact information and approximate number of pictures. -- Submitted by the Oakville Public Library www. com European Engineering Combined With Traditional Workmanship #1 in System for Your Home $ /month** Home Comfort GAS FURNACE, CENTRAL AIR, Since 1990 AIR PURIFIER & HUMIDIFIER THE BIGGEST SALE EVER 89 Offer ends July 31, 2010 Or Central Air Conditioner from $39/month** UP TO $ 3830* IN GOVERNMENT & FACTORY REBATES* ELIGIBLE FOR "Building on the Brightest Ideas Around Glass" SAME DAY INSTALLATIONS AVAILABLE We service Lennox *Call for details, offers cannot be combined, On new orders only ** OAC Prime rate subject to change. 905.849.0266 905-849-4998 9 LOCATIONS TO SERVE YOU BETTER *See dealer for details www.aireone.com 1-888-827-2665 A+ Rating
