The sponsor of the first Mayor's Award of Excellence for Photography is Oakville-based MDG Computers, which will give a laptop to the winner of the award, presented by Mayor Rob Burton. New categories for Capture Oakville 2010 include futuristic, colour, monochrome, portraits, beauty, Open and for students only. The top 80 images will be displayed in the North Atrium of Oakville Town Hall starting Nov. 12, the date of the opening night gala. The contest is administered by the camera club, which is open to everyone in Oakville and surrounding areas. Submission deadline is Oct. 10.
