"I did it last year and I had a ball," said local jazz singer Paula Gardin. "It was really a great setting and it's a good festival. It's really fun and I'm excited to do it again." Gardin is no stranger to performing at jazz festivals. Just this summer she has already performed at the Waterloo and Burlington jazz festivals. "I love it. There's nothing better than singing for people," she said. Roi has performed in her fair share of jazz festivals as well, including the Toronto event earlier this summer. "I like performing in front of anyone because I love any kind of audience but it's always special when you look out in the audience and you do see some of your neighbours and they're cheering and they're smiling," she said. Roi said she likes the local festival because it is well attended, it features many stages, and is organized in a way that musicians don't compete against each other.
