Shortly after 5:30 a.m. on July 26 Halton Regional Police Service responded to a commercial burglar alarm at Atlantis HVAC Systems located at 1040 Speers Rd. Investigation by police revealed the deadbolt lock has been removed from the front door. Once inside, the suspect(s) removed three large air-conditioning units and a furnace. It is believed that the suspect(s) dragged the items out of the front door of the premises and loaded them into a van or on to a flatbed truck and fled prior to police arrival. Total loss is unknown at this time. ··· Halton Regional police are investigating a break and enter, and theft to a local business in Oakville. Police are working to find burglars in the Oakville area who strike quiet neighborhoods looking for expensive items found in open or unlocked garages. On July 27, between midnight and 6:30 a.m., the side garage door to a Rochester Circle residence was left unlocked, leaving the garage exposed to a break-in. During the early morning hours, unknown culprit(s) entered the garage and had access to an unlocked vehicle, where a GPS and a camera were taken. The culprit(s) also removed two Mountain bikes, a pressure washer, golf clubs and some power tools from inside the garage. Total loss is estimated at more than $5,000.
