Interior of Dr. Sam Webster's home;
Text on back reads: "Interior of Dr. Sam Webster's home, 1895, a glimpse of Victorian elegance. Seated at the piano is the Dr.'s wife, the former Belle Gollop, resplendent in a gown purchased at the World's fair in Chicago in 1892, the Dr. with his Mutton Chop beard leaning on the piano, Mr.and Mrs. Eli Gollop, Sr. in the background, Belle's sister, Jennie (later Mrs. Black), on the settee, and on the footstool Prairie Maguire, the Dr.'s niece. She had lost her mother, and the good Dr. wanted to give her a home. In the West she had been known as Belle too, so to avoid confusion in the house the Dr. called her is "Prairie Belle" and very shortly she became 'Prairie' to everyone. She was a talented painter, an entertaining companion and a great pleasure to her Uncle Dr. who adored her. Prairie's gift of friendship, her love and her laughter, is a legacy many of us are privileged to share - and to cherish.
